You ask, I’ll answer…

I hate the idea of being filmed. Will this affect the wedding film?

I completely understand! We are all different and not everyone is comfortable in front a camera. I built my philosophy and approach around this question. The last thing I want to do is to add more stress or interrupt the flow of your special day. The wedding day experience and my approach to capture your day is completely custom and personalized to make sure you and your partner are comfortable. Whether you would like a more documentary style where I shoot from afar and capture natural moments as the day unfolds, to a more interactive experience with me providing prompts to get all the best and beautiful shots. We’ll discuss which approach you prefer ahead of the wedding so there will be no surprises.

Should I have one or two videographers?

If budget is not a concerning factor, two videographers are much preferred and offers the most value.

Although I’ve filmed many weddings as a single videographer, there are limitations. Simply, one person cannot be in two places at once and certain required setup times will take my presence away from the action, yet missing some moments.

The benefits of a second videographer include the following:

  • More creative footage throughout the day. Approximately 65% more footage.

  • Additional angle/perspective to capture all the important moments. One can capture the bride coming down the aisle while the other capture the groom and guests’ reactions.

  • Provide coverage for both Bride and Groom when they are getting ready at different locations.

  • Great for large weddings with many guests.

Do you need to visit the venue beforehand?

No, as my work is people and story focused, the venue, as beautiful as I know it will be, simply provides me with a back drop to the film. My films always contain scene setting shots which show off the venue and its details however I usually capture this footage either early on during the day or throughout the day.

How far will you travel?

I'm based in New York City and currently film most of my weddings in NYC and surrounding cities. Don’t let that stop you, I love traveling and exploring new places and cultures. If you have a destination in mind, please contact me so we can discuss.

We don't look or sound like the couples on your web site?

I'm not really interested in how couples look or believes how they should look. My work is about storytelling and capturing an honest and artistic account of someone's special day. The couples on my site are starring in their own movie and you are a star in yours. Your film will be beautiful and different because it will be real and personal to you. It will be more than a gift to yourself but also to your family, children and grandchildren.

What cameras do you use?

I am shooting on the latest and top of the line Sony mirrorless camera, Sony A7SIII. I can geek out quite a bit on all the specifications. To keep it simple, it’s an amazing camera shooting 4k resolution with the ability for slow motion. There are larger cinema cameras but the Sony’s smaller footprint and ability to be discreet allows me to capture the raw, natural moments of the day without being intrusive.

How do you record sound?

Throughout the day audio is captured through many small microphones and recorders. During ceremonies and speeches, I usually tap into the DJ or house soundboard with a recorder. As backups, I'll clip a very small lapel microphone onto each of the people speaking.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I am fully covered and can provide a certificate of insurance to requesting venues.

How do we book?

After our initial communication, consultation and we are both sure we’re a good match, there are two things needed to complete the booking. A signed agreement and a retainer payment.
